Diet Maker Inc (“Diet Maker,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Diet Maker mobile application and the website dietmaker.com (together, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
By using Diet Maker, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
a) Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
Name, email address, and password (or, if you sign in with a third-party provider, your name and email from that provider)
Date of birth, age, and gender
Profile photo (optional)
b) Sign-In via Third-Party Providers
If you choose to sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and a unique provider ID from that service to create and authenticate your account. We do not receive your password for these services.
c) Health and Fitness Information
To provide personalized meal planning, we collect:
Height, weight, and body measurements
Activity level, physical goals, and dietary preferences
Calorie and macronutrient targets
Meal plans, logged meals, recipes, and food entries
Weight logs and body measurement logs over time
Journal entries and adherence logs (whether you stayed on plan)
Progress photos you choose to upload
d) Camera and Photo Library Access
The app requests camera and photo library access to let you: take or upload progress photos, take or upload a profile photo, and scan product barcodes to look up food and nutrition information. Images are only accessed and uploaded when you actively choose to do so.
e) Device and Usage Information
We automatically collect:
Device identifiers, device type (iOS/Android), and timezone
Push notification tokens (via Firebase Cloud Messaging), used to send meal reminders and journal notifications
App usage and diagnostic/crash data via Firebase
f) Information You Submit Directly
Coaching inquiry forms (name, email, and stated fitness/diet goals)
Newsletter sign-up (name and email)
Custom recipes and foods you create within the app
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Create and manage your account
Generate personalized meal plans, calorie/macro targets, and recommendations
Track and display your weight, measurement, and adherence progress over time
Let you log meals, journal entries, and progress photos
Process and verify subscription purchases
Send push notifications and reminders you’ve opted into
Respond to coaching inquiries and support requests
Send newsletters, if you’ve subscribed
Maintain, secure, and improve the Service
Diagnose technical issues and prevent fraud or abuse
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
Firebase (Google LLC) — authentication, cloud data storage, push notifications, analytics, and crash reporting
Google Sign-In, Facebook, and Apple — solely to authenticate your account if you choose social login
Apple App Store / Google Play Billing — to process and verify subscription purchases
[Backend/API hosting provider, e.g., your server host] — to store and serve your account and meal-planning data
Service providers who perform functions on our behalf (e.g., email delivery for password resets and newsletters), bound by confidentiality obligations
Law enforcement or regulators, where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and health data for as long as your account is active. If you deactivate your account, your data is retained but hidden from active use so you can reactivate later. If you request permanent account deletion (see Section 6), we will delete your personal data within [30] days, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or security purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you

6. Account and Data Deletion
You can deactivate your account at any time from within the app (Profile → Deactivate Account). To permanently delete your account and all associated data, [choose one:]
Go to Profile → Delete Account, or
Submit a request at [dietmaker.com/delete-account] or by emailing [info@dietmaker.com]
Once a deletion request is confirmed, we permanently delete your account information, health data, photos, and logs within [30] days, except data we are legally required to retain.
7. Children’s Privacy
Diet Maker is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will delete it.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted transmission and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Data Transfers
